Requirements#
Cosmil supports both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs running macOS Sonoma (14) or greater.
Download and install#
- Download the latest release of Cosmil for Apple Silicon or Intel.
- Open the downloaded
.dmgand drag Cosmil into your Applications folder. - Launch Cosmil from Applications or Spotlight.
Start a free trial#
Open Cosmil and click Start Free Trial. You get 10 uninterrupted days with every feature, without purchasing a license first.
When the trial expires, you need to buy and activate a license to continue using Cosmil. Transfers and other important operations are allowed to finish before the paywall appears.
Activate your license#
If you already own a license, or you buy one during or after your trial, activate it in Cosmil using the key from your purchase email. Paste the key into the license activation prompt and press Activate. You can keep using the same installation; there is no separate paid download.
Grant Full Disk Access#
This is a very important step. If you don’t grant Cosmil Full Disk Access you may not be able to access all your files within Cosmil (for example, without full disk access you won’t be able to see what’s in your Trash Bin).
You should be prompted to open the relevant security settings but in case you accidentally skip the prompt here’s how you can do it manually:
- Open System Settings
- Navigate to
Privacy and Security - Click
Full Disk Access(you might need to scroll down first) - Click the switch for Cosmil to the on position
- If you don’t see Cosmil in the list click the
+button at the bottom left right below the list, select Cosmil within your Applications folder, and clickOpen— then Cosmil should be visible in the list.
- If you don’t see Cosmil in the list click the
Uninstalling#
Quit Cosmil and delete it from ~/Applications — that’s it. Cosmil runs no background services and leaves nothing behind.
